UTAH COUNTY, Utah, July 27, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have identified two men who were fatally injured in a rollover crash on U.S. Highway 6 in Utah County Friday evening.

The deceased are Shaun L. Begay, 31, and Sherman Begay, 29, both of Tuba City, Arizona, according to a news release from Utah Highway Patrol.

The men were traveling eastbound in a tan Chevy Silverado on U.S. 6 at mile post 206.3 in the number one eastbound lane just before 8:30 p.m., according to the news release.

“Witnesses reported that for an unknown reason, the truck spun out in the eastbound lanes and went off the roadway to the right,” the news release said. “The vehicle then rolled down the embankment about 150 feet off the road. Road conditions at the time were wet but it is unknown if it was still raining.”

Both men were ejected as it rolled. It is not known at this time which man was the driver, officials said.

Sherman Begay died at the scene, the news release said, and Shaun L. Begay was airlifted to the hospital but died en route.

There is no evidence of impairment at this time, officials said.

Lane restrictions were in place during the investigation but the scene is now clear.
