Update: Officials ID 21-year-old man killed in I-80 rollover in Tooele County

TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 30, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) —  Authorities have identified the man who died Friday when the pickup truck he was driving rolled multiple times on Interstate 80.

The deceased is Brian Maldonado, of Salt Lake City, according to a news release from Utah Highway Patrol. Troopers are looking at alcohol impairment as a contributing factor in the crash, the news release said.

The pickup truck was eastbound on I-80 at milepost 51, near Knolls Recreation Area, when the incident occurred, officials said.

The truck drifted off the left side of the roadway, and the driver overcorrected back causing the pick up to roll. multiple times before coming to rest on its wheels.

Maldonado was wearing his seat belt, but suffered severe head trauma. He died a short while later.
