OREM, Utah, Aug. 8, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a 23-year-old man who died after a motorcycle accident Saturday night in Orem.

Orem City Police Lt. Craig Martinez said the deceased is Yazeed Alotaibi, of Saudi Arabia. Initial reports had indicated Alotaibi was 20, but this was later amended.

The crash happened at about 9:45 p.m. near 300 S. State St., Martinez said.

Two motorcyclists were headed south on State Street when the driver of a Ford Expedition pulled in front of them.

Alotaibi hit the Ford Expedition broadside and died at the scene, Martinez said.

The other motorcyclist managed to avoid the crash.

Investigators believe the bikers were traveling between 60 and 70 mph, approximately 20 mph higher than the posted speed limit, at the time of the accident. They also said impairment did not appear to be a factor.
