Utah COVID-19 update: 4 deaths, 357 new cases confirmed in past day

UTAH, June 12, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health on Saturday reported four COVID-19 deaths and 357 new cases confirmed in the past day.

That brings total cases to 409,364 and known cases to 2,323.

The four who died were:

  • A Salt Lake County man between 45 and 64, hospitalized at time of death
  • A Utah County woman between 45 and 64, hospitalized
  • A Utah County woman between 65 and 84, a long-term care facility resident
  • A Washington County man between 45 and 64, hospitalized

Vaccines administered total 2,728,455, which is which is 14,659 more than Friday.

People in Utah tested for the coronavirus number 2,736,346, an increase of 4,431 people since Friday.

Tests given here number 5,004,104, an increase of 7,966 in the past day.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 280 per day.

The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 7.0%. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 4.5%.

There are 164 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 17,079.
