VIDEO: Fire In Payson Fully Engulfs Vacant Home

PAYSON, Utah, June 11, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Payson fire and rescue continue to monitor hot spots Saturday at a vacant home that was destroyed overnight in a fast-moving fire.

Firefighters from Payson and Santaquin City Fire Departments were called at 3:21 a.m. Saturday to the structure fire, at 1349 S. 780 West.

The fire was not reported until flames had spread throughout the home. Officials said empty buildings can burn unnoticed, not leaving firefighters adequate time to respond before the structures are fully engulfed.

Officials said the home is total loss. The cause of the fire and estimated damage have not yet been released.
