WASATCH COUNTY, Utah, Dec. 31, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman was airlifted to the hospital late Thursday morning after the snowmobile she was riding went off a trail and ran into a tree in the Timber Lakes area of Wasatch County.

Lt. Stucki, Division of State Parks and Recreation, told Gephardt Daily the woman was from Kentucky, and had been riding a rental vehicle with a group of others. She suffered a concussion and lacerations, Stucki said, and she was airlifted to a hospital in the Salt Lake Valley for treatment. Stucki had no additional information on the woman’s condition, he said.

Stucki speculated that inexperience with the machine and the activity may have contributed to the accident.

The woman had left the trail when she hit the tree, Stucki said. She was alone on the snowmobile, and no one else was injured.
