SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Nov. 10, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 19-year-old woman was transported to the hospital Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle as she crossed State Street.

The accident happened at about 9 p.m. in the area of 3300 S. State.

Sgt. M. Winters, with the South Salt Lake Police Department, said the woman was in the crosswalk when an eastbound Chevrolet passenger car turned to go north and hit her.

The woman “was obviously injured, but her injuries aren’t life-threatening,” Winters said.

The 25-year-old male driver remained on scene.

Winters said it is still early in the investigation, and it isn’t known yet if speed or alcohol were contributing factors.
