WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Nov. 22, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — West Valley City police have reported that a 6-year-old girl missing since Friday night has been found, and is safe.

“UPDATE: the child has been located and is safe. She’s being reunited with her family. Thank you to everyone who helped look for her,” says the WVCPD social media post, issued at 1:39 p.m. Saturday.

On Friday night, the child had been left with a family friend who was babysitting her, and a cousin of the child’s family came to the residence and took the girl without permission, West Valley City Police reported overnight.

The two left on foot. Hours of attempts to contact the cousin, 34-year-old Ayak Ngor, had been unsuccessful, police reported in a Saturday morning post asking for the public’s help.

No additional information was shared about how the child was located and recovered. It was not immediately clear whether Ngor may face charges in the case.

Gephardt Daily will share additional information as it is released.
