Black Bear Captured in New Jersey Neighborhood
RIDGEWOOD, N.J., April 13 (UPI) —Authorities in New Jersey said they captured a loose black bear caught on camera wandering a residential neighborhood in broad daylight.
The Ridgewood Police Department said the 175-pound bear was cornered in a treearound 11 a.m. Saturday and New Jersey Department of Fish and Wildlife officerstranquilized and removed the animal by noon.
The bear was spotted wandering through multiple Ridgewood neighborhood and was recorded by at least one resident, Paige Delaney, who captured footage of the bear climbing over a fence into a neighbor’s yard.
Officials said the bear is being located to an area further away from human residents.
