BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 28 (UPI) — On the eve of Wednesday’s Republican presidential candidate debate, a senior adviser to one of the contenders took to social media to say his camp is already fighting an uphill battle — at least regarding the comforts of their “green room.”

Chris LaCivita, a senior political adviser to Rand Paul, posted a series of tweets on Tuesday complaining that other candidates’ quarters are superior to the Kentucky Republican’s at the University of Colorado’s Coors Events Center — the site of Wednesday night’s debate.

LaCivita’s tweets included photos of the other candidates’ “green rooms” — a designation used by the television industry that refers to a place of comfort where interviewees can relax and prepare before their appearance on TV.

CNBC is hosting Wednesday’s debate, but the Republican National Committee is responsible for coordinating the logistics of each debate — and that includes assigning the “green rooms.”

LaCivita tweeted his photos after a walk through of the facility on Tuesday. Among his observations: Marco Rubio‘s “green room” has stadium seating, Carly Fiorina‘s has a Jacuzzi, and Donald Trump‘s, well…

Two of his Twitter posts were punctuated with ‘#ThanksRNC.’

But Paul’s camp wasn’t alone in its complaints about accommodations.

“This is ridiculous,” Chris Christie‘s campaign manager, Ken McKay, said. “We’re in a restroom.”

RNC chairman Reince Priebus said the Coors Event Center isn’t intended to provide “green rooms” for 14-person debates, the Denver Post reported.

“This is an athletic facility. It’s not quite a Jacuzzi, it’s a locker room. They’re doing everything they can to space off everything for candidates,” he told Fox News.

“I think we’ve got bigger problems than worrying about greenrooms, but I do think the candidates should be comfortable.”

A couple hours later, it appeared the RNC had improved Paul’s quarters. LaCivita posted a new tweet with a photo of an improved “green room.”

“Thanks to everyone at GOP for bending over backwards to acquire great working conditions for team Paul,” it read.

The Republican frontrunners will begin their debate at 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday and it will be broadcast live by CNBC.
