Jeremy Meeks, of California, who made headlines in 2014 for his “hot” mugshot has decided to try to make a career out of modeling once he is released from prison.

Meeks was arrested on weapons charges and one gang charge in Stockton last June. His mugshot was shared all over the internet after Stockton police posted it on their Facebook page and he gained national attention for his incredibly chiseled jaw and his icy blue eyes.

Nearing 235,000 facebook fans, Meeks has now hired an agent to help him nurture his modeling career once he is released.

According to his page, U.S. District Judge Troy Nunley in Sacramento sentenced Meeks on Thursday to 27 months in prison and ordered him to participate in a substance abuse treatment program in prison.

“I’m in a place where I will be able to provide for my family and really change my life,” he told ABC News from his Nevada prison cell.

Meeks, who is married and has one son, said he would try to stay healthy while serving his sentence but remained surprised that so many people found him to be attractive.
