Sundance: O.U.R. Rescue
Thousands and thousands of children are sold as not only slaves but sex slaves every day. People everywhere are trying to stop this slavery from happening but there are just not enough resources to get it all under control.
Haiti has 50,000 children who have no parents. Thousands of them are smuggled out every year. But there are good people in the government that want the problem stopped.
That is what the Operation Underground Railroad, also known as O.U.R, is all about trying to stop. There have been many rescued from the help of donations that the O.U.R. has been given. Some of the rescues have been from Columbia, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Ecuador and other countries.
Tim Ballard is the CEO and founder of O.U.R. Ballard is a former C.I.A Agent and former Investigator of Homeland Security, specializing in Human Trafficking. Tim believes that he is rescuing children from slavery, a modern day Abolotionist.

[/one_fourth][three_fourth_last]He started Operation Underground Railroad back in January of 2014 and says that it is difficult to let go of being the only one who has been rescuing the children. So when they started Operation Triple Take, which is where three different jump teams will be in three different cities and making three different rescues. Tim had a hard time letting others save the children without him.
O.U.R. has had many helpers with saving thousands of children one of whom was up at Sundance with our Film Critic Tony Toscano. Her name is Laurie Holden, known for her role as Andrea on seasons 1 through 3 on “The Walking Dead”.
She was recently part of an undercover operation that helped save 55 sex slaves in Cartagena, Colombia. Holden’s role in the operation was to keep the girls occupied in the pool area, while local undercover cops caught the traffickers exchanging money on camera.
She was up at Sundance promoting “The Abolitionists” movie and TV Series. The movie and TV Series is produced by Gerald R. Molen who is also the producer of “Schindler’s List” and “Jurassic Park”. While it is produced and directed by Darrin Fletcher and Chet Thomas.
