June 7, 2015 (The Sports Network) — French Open tennis in Paris – Finals, Lucie Safarova shook off the disappoint of losing Saturday’s singles final at the French Open by teaming up with American Bethanie Mattek-Sands to capture the doubles title on Sunday.

Safarova missed out on her first Grand Slam singles title, losing in three sets to Serena Williams. But the Czech is still leaving Paris as a champion.

The seventh-seeded tandem of Safarova and Mattek-Sands rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory over 12th seeds Casey Dellacqua of Australia and Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan.
