Five-killed-in-apparent-family-dispute-shooting-in-SwitzerlandWüRENLINGEN, Switzerland, May 10 (UPI) — Five people were killed late Saturday in a shooting in the town of Würenlingen, Switzerland, in an apparent family dispute.

The gunman was among the dead and known to some of the victims, police spokesman Bernhard Graser told BBC News. He added the case is not related to terrorism and an investigation is underway.

“It’s serious but it’s not a terrorist attack,” Graser said. The gunman apparently shot himself.

Bodies were found by Aargau County Police officers inside and outside a residential building during the night.

The town of Würenlingen has a population of about 4,000 people and is located about 20 miles northwest of Zurich, largest city in Switzerland. Würenlingen is a German-speaking town, near the German border.

A motive has not been established. A criminal inquiry has been opened by the state prosecutor’s office.

Local media reports describe the shooter as a 36-year-old father of three and a policeman. He did not have a gun license and did not fire with a police weapon, according to police.
