The 29-year old was at Lion Park , located in Johannesburg, South Africa, taking pictures of the tiger with her windows down when a lion attacked her. The driver/tour guide came to her aid and was severely injured.

Chappell’s sister Jennifer took to Facebook and gave thanks for all the support. “We cannot thank everyone enough for the kind words and support. It means the world to us during this difficult time,” her sister wrote. “Her energy and passion could not be contained by mere continents or oceans. She was very much loved and shared her love for life with those she met.”

The film editor also worked in other productions, such as Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Divergent.
