WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, April 26, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A death investigation is continuing into what is initially believed to be an accidental shooting.
Officers were dispatched to the scene of the incident at 3900 S 4400 W in West Valley City at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, said WVCPD Sgt. McKenzie Fowler, public information officer. “They found an adult male who had succumbed to a gunshot wound,” she said.
Early reports point to an accidental discharge of a firearm between two brothers, according to Fowler, who said the incident is isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Because the investigation continues, she said no further details could be released.
