12-year-old boy hit by school bus in Roy; flown to Primary Children’s in critical condition

ROY, Utah, Sept. 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 12-year-old boy has been struck by a school bus in Roy, and was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital by LifeFlight helicopter.

The child was hit at about 2:49 p.m. Friday while crossing the intersection at 5175 South and 2500 West on his bicycle, Roy City Police Officer Stuart Hackworth told Gephardt Daily. He said the boy was flown to the hospital in critical condition.

The child was within the crosswalk when he was struck by the front of the bus, the officer said.

No students on the bus were injured, according to a statement from the Weber School District.
