Video Shows “iWheel” Made From iMac Boxes In Action

NEWBERG, Ore., Aug. 5 (UPI) — The IT department at an Oregon university created a video showing off their “iWheel” — a giant wheel made from 36 empty iMac boxes and packing tape.

Mike Campadore, the systems administrator at George Fox University, became a viral star last week when a picture of his “iWheel” made it to the front page of Reddit and the school posted a YouTube video Tuesday showing Campadore and his colleagues rolling the finished wheel with IT workers taking turns inside.

The iWheel, which measures nearly 9 feet all and weighs about 120 pounds, took Campadore about four hours to build.

“Campadore… dreams he can customize his iWheel to include plastic pipe rails that would allow him to put a revolving chair in the inside of the contraption. And, if he could pull it off, he’d like to make it rocket propelled,” George Fox University said in a blog post.
