July 14 (UPI) — A Chinese mall is aiming to keep men from becoming bored on shopping trips with video game-equipped “husband storage pods.”
The Global Harbor mall in Shanghai unveiled the four pods, The Paper reported, which are composed of glass booths containing chairs and PC gaming set-ups, complete with multiple peripherals.
The mall said the video game pods are free for mall visitors for now, but will later be equipped with a system to scan QR codes and pay a small fee for gaming sessions.
Mall-goers who tried out the “husband storage pods” spoke fondly of the video games, but one suggested the booths heat up quickly and could use air conditioning units.
