ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 20 (UPI) ─ A wild turkey on an apparent mission to avoid the Thanksgiving dinner table was photographed trying to get into a Florida church in its search for sanctuary.

St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Orlando posted a picture to Facebook on Friday showing the wild turkey trying to get in the doors of the church.

A church employee live-streamed video on Periscope of the turkey wandering the church grounds.

A second Periscope video shows the turkey peeking into the church’s windows while organ music plays.

“All are welcome at St. Luke’s, even turkeys,” the church wrote on Periscope.

Church members made light of the bird’s plight on Facebook.

“If President Obama won’t pardon him, maybe Jesus will!” one church member joked.

“Pardon for sin and PIECE that endureth. I’ll take a dark piece, please,” another member wrote.

“The jokes are endless, and he doesn’t seem to want to leave,” church employee Dawn Fleming told WKMG-TV.
