AMERICAN FORK, Utah, June 1, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 38-year-old man who died after a crash Thursday morning on Interstate 15 northbound at American Fork has been identified.

Joshua Robertson from Murray was the only occupant of a blue Chevrolet Monte Carlo which was traveling northbound on I-15, at 500 East in American Fork at approximately 7:45 a.m., the Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release.

“For some unknown reason, Robertson veered off the the road to the right, overcorrected to the left, across all lanes of traffic and hit a black Chevrolet pickup,” the news release continued. “Robertson continued to veer left, hitting the concrete center barrier.”

He was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

“Robertson’s vehicle bounced off the concrete barrier, and hit a third vehicle traveling in the car pool lane,” the release continued.

Robertson sustained fatal injuries from the crash and died on scene.

None of the other occupants in the vehicles involved were injured.

Impairment is not suspected as a cause, but troopers are looking into a possible road rage incident between Robertson and another driver, prior to Robertson loosing control of his vehicle.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is released.
