DEER CREEK RESERVOIR, UTAH – September 10, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A fast-moving wildfire near Deer Creek Reservoir is 25 percent contained.

The Wheeler Fire, which crews said was human caused, now spans 640 acres.

Added law enforcement presence has been in place at the fire to watch for any drone activity, after all aerial firefighting came to a halt due to a drone in the area Tuesday evening, said a tweet from Utah Fire officials.

The Wheeler Fire started Monday afternoon and ballooned to nearly 300 acres by evening, according to Mike Eriksson with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands.

The fire is burning in the Cascade Meadows area.  It was advancing toward the Cascade Springs subdivision but turned, and headed toward the Cascade Springs recreation area. No structures are currently threatened.

Fire investigators believe the wildfire is human-caused, but said exactly what ignited it is still being determined.
