MAGNA, Utah, May 21, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 10-year-old was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Magna Monday morning, officials said.

The Utah Department of Transportation tweeted the incident occurred on eastbound State Route 201 at 7200 West, milepost 8, at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Utah Highway Patrol officials said three children were in the back seat of a vehicle that was rear-ended, though the circumstances that led up to the collision are not yet clear.

One other child was injured and was transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance, officials said.

The left lane of traffic of eastbound SR-201 was closed to allow investigators to complete their work but has since reopened.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
