Police ID victim of Clinton shooting

CLINTON, Utah, Feb. 14, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified the man found dead after a shooting in Clinton.

The victim is Deven Tomas Gallegos, 21, of North Ogden. He was found deceased in a truck in a Clearfield parking lot shortly after reports of gunfire in front of a residence in Clinton. Police found evidence connected Gallegos to the house in Clinton.

Just after 9:30 p.m. Monday, police were called to the area of 1100 N. 1000 West, Clinton. Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots, and said they saw multiple vehicles leaving the area with their headlights turned off, according to police reports.

Later that night, Clearfield police were summoned to the parking lot of a Pizza Hut, where they found Gallegos’ body in a truck.

The investigation is still active.

People who say they are friends of the family have asked that anyone willing to help with the costs related to Gallegos’ death contribute to an account set up under his name at Leavitt’s Mortuary, or to an account in the name of Truedy Gallegos set up at Golden West Credit Union.
