SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 29, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police are looking for the driver of a white truck that struck a man at Indiana Avenue and Emery Street on Friday night.

SLCPD Lt. Dave Cracroft said the incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. as a man with a longboard was crossing Indiana Avenue in a crosswalk.

A westbound truck struck the man and threw him about 20 yards, Cracroft said. The vehicle then fled west down Indiana Avenue.

The victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Witnesses described the driver as a Caucasian man in his 60s, wearing a yellow or green construction vest.

The vehicle was reported as a white Toyota Tacoma or Chevy S-10 with a lot of rust on the shell. Cracroft said the truck probably has heavy damage to the front end and windshield.

Anyone who has seen the truck or has any information about this incident is asked to call SLCPD Dispatch at 801-799-3000.
