United Airlines to Resume Flights After Computer Glitch

WASHINGTON, July 8 (UPI) — United Airlines resumed flying Wednesday morning following a computer glitch that grounded thousands of planes nationwide.
The Federal Aviation Administration lifted the ground stop after an “automation issue” caused problems. About 10 a.m. the FAA said the issue was fixed. About 3,500 planes were affected for 235 domestic and 138 international destinations.
The carrier transports some 16 million passengers a day.
