AMERICAN FORK, Utah, June 21, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police say a husband and wife found dead in their American Fork home Thursday afternoon appears to be the result of a homicide and suicide.

American Fork police responded about 12:41 p.m. to a home at 1418 N. 80 East, where they found the bodies of a man and woman with gunshot wounds.

Police identified the couple Friday as Olin Johnson, 57, and his wife, Kerilyn Johnson, 52.

“Based on the investigation, it appears that Olin fatally shot Kerilyn before fatally shooting himself,” American Fork police said in a news release.

The Utah Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

“We express our most profound and sincere condolences to the family and friends of Olin and Kerilyn,” the release says.
