[/one_fourth][three_fourth_last]Bill Gates is serious about good books — and he’s sharing his top picks for the year in a video.
A Lego version of Bill Gates highlights five books:
- Business Adventures by John Brooks
- Capital in the Twenty-First Century by Thomas Piketty
- How Asia Works by Joe Studwell
- The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion
- Making the Modern World: Materials and Dematerialization by Vaclav Smil
Gates posted short reviews of the books on his blog. But not all are new; Business Adventures, which Gates ranks as the best business book he has ever read, was originally published in 1969. On the other end of the scale, The Rosie Effect has yet to be published in the U.S.; Gates received an advance copy from the author. This is something of a tradition for Gates; he posted his favorite books in 2013 and in 2012.
