Watch - Gephardt Daily We’ve been hearing a lot about smart watches in the past couple years, and we saw some new models at CES 2015 last week. But here’s a smart watch you may not have heard about. Its sleek titanium body and band make it feel very light on the wrist. It has a high-resolution, always-on display with analog hands showing the time to the precise second, and the digital day and date.

And the day and date are always precisely correct, because this watch synchronizes itself wirelessly every night directly to the worldwide atomic time standard. It does this no matter where you are in the U.S. or many other countries, adjusting itself for daylight savings and leap years.

If you’re traveling, a couple of button taps will choose the city, and the watch automatically resets itself to local time. It has several alarm settings and stopwatch features. It runs on normal room light, so never needs a battery. A backlight lets you use it in the dark. It’s claimed to be waterproof to over 300 feet (we haven’t tested that).

My Casio Wave Ceptor Tough Solar watch has been working perfectly since the day I bought it, more than 10 years ago. Casio dropped the titanium version, but still sells the same basic watch with a stainless-steel band for $115, or with a plastic band for less than $100. I think I made a pretty smart buy!
