LOS ANGELES, March 31 (UPI) — Alyson Hannigan will return to television to host “Penn & Teller: Fool Us.”
The CW announced the 42-year-old actress will host the magic competition’s upcoming third season in a statement to news outlets Thursday.
“My oldest daughter and I are huge fans of the show, so I am so excited to be hosting a program our whole family can watch together,” Hannigan said.
“Not to mention, Penn & Teller are genius entertainers so any opportunity to work with them is amazing. And, of course, I’ve always wanted to play Vegas!”
The series sees aspiring magicians perform tricks for celebrity illusionists Penn & Teller, who attempt to explain the feats. Magicians who stump the duo win the chance to open Penn & Teller’s popular Las Vegas show.
“Teller and I are big fans of Alyson,” Penn [Jillette] said. “She is talented, smart and funny. We are so happy that she’s joining us as host this season. She has promised us that she loves magic and can’t get enough.”
“Penn & Teller: Fool Us” premiered in 2011 and will return for a third season in the summer. Penn & Teller have performed together since the late 1970s and co-executive produce the show with Peter Adam Golden and Andrew Golder.
Hannigan is known for playing Willow Rosenberg on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and Lily Aldrin on “How I Met Your Mother.” She has since guest starred on “The McCarthys” and will star in “Modern Love” with Jonathan Bennett.
