LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – August 17, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Universal Pictures is calculating their bio-pic “Straight Outta Compton” will earn approximately $56 million in weekend ticket sales, making the film the number one movie in the USA.
“Compton” tallied about $20,345 per screen average from 2,757 theaters across the United States.

“Compton” brought the house down around “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” which came in third with about $13.5 million its debut weekend. The film is not performing up to experts’ expectations.
“U.N.C.L.E.” took in a measly $3,720 per screen domestically (it opened on 3,638 screens) with Guy Ritchie directing Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer in a tongue-in-cheek reboot of the 1960’s series.

In the second spot is “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” which cleared about $17 million this weekend. The film’s grand domestic total is $138.1 million in three weeks.

At number four the controversial “Fantastic Four” brings in an additional $8 million. The film has totally underperformed and has been trashed by film critics. Even the director has had unkind things to say about his involvement and that he was not responsible for the final film.
