AMERICAN FORK, Utah, April 25, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 10-year-old girl is in critical condition after she collided with a car while riding her bicycle in American Fork Wednesday afternoon.

American Fork Police Department officials said the crash occurred in the intersection at 560 W. 1120 North at approximately 5 p.m. It’s not clear at this time why the girl rode her bike into the intersection.

The girl’s bicycle hit a moving car, officials said. It doesn’t appear at this time that factors such as speed or impairment were factors on the part of the driver.

The girl was taken to an area hospital in critical condition before being flown by medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
