TOQUERVILLE, Utah, June 22, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Rescue crews came to the aid of a 19-year-old who fell approximately 60 feet off a cliff.
Crews were summoned just before 9 p.m. Sunday to a site near Ash Creek Drive southwest of the intersection of Toquerville Parkway and Toquerville Boulevard, according to Hurricane Valley Fire District. Paramedics hiked to the fallen man and began emergency medical care for his life-threatening injuries.
Simultaneously a high-angle rope system was established to extricate him. “After the patient was stabilized, he was placed in a patient transport device, secured, and raised to the top of the cliff with a rescuer accompanying during the operation.
“Once at the top, the patient was transferred to the care of the Intermountain Life Flight crew and transported by ambulance to a waiting helicopter staged on Toquerville Parkway.”

The roadway was closed until the helicopter departed, flying the patient to St. George Regional Hospital. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, the agency said.
