Bonneville Fire update:
As of 4 p.m. Sunday, the Bonneville Fire has been mapped at 494 acres.
“Large Air Tankers (LATs) are providing retardant support to minimize fire intensity and allow the ground crews to gain containment along the west and northwest edges,” the Utah Fire Info update says.
“Fire activity has been most active on the east side due to the predicted shift in wind direction this afternoon.
“Engine and firefighters are strategically positioned within nearby communities and are prepared to implement structure protection measures should fire conditions escalate and the need arises.”

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall also shared the message asking residents of the Arlington Hills neighborhood to get ready, in case further steps, including evacuation, should become necessary.
“As the Bonneville Fire progresses, there is a potential that some residents in the area of Arlington Hills may need to evacuate,” Mendenhall’s message says.
“Out of an abundance of caution right now, we asked that the people who live in this area be prepared with what they need, should it eventually be necessary to leave your homes.
