PROVIDENCE, Utah, June 21, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Emergency crews hiked to an injured ATV driver Saturday to help in his his rescue with a medical helicopter.
Four units from the Logan City Fire Department responded along with Cache County Search and Rescue at around 3:30 p.m., the Logan department said in a news release.
To reach the injured man in Providence Canyon, crews had to hike up a steep hillside about 100 yards. His ATV had rolled a similar distance, coming to rest in the canyon in thick brush near a quarry.
“Due to the steep terrain, Intermountain Flight & Ambulance Services (AKA LifeFlight), responded with their hoist capabilities and were able to hoist the patient off of the mountain.”
He was flown to a trauma center with serious injuries.
