OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 28, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A family of nine was temporarily displaced by a fire that started in the attic of their home Friday night.

Firefighters arrived at the residence on Seventh Street at about 6:50 p.m. Everyone had safely evacuated, Battalion Chief Hal Van Meeteren, Ogden Fire Department, said.

No one was injured in the fire, and there wasn’t much structural damage to the home, he told Gephardt Daily.

“The Red Cross is here to help the residents with a place to stay tonight,” he said from the scene, adding that crews “got a quick knockdown,” which prevented the fire from spreading through the entire structure.

Investigators were still on scene, and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
