GRANTSVILLE, Utah, Feb. 3, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A man driving westbound on Interstate 80 on Tuesday was ejected in a single-vehicle rollover in Tooele County.

The Utah Highway Patrol responded at approximately 5:30 a.m. when the pickup truck flipped near milepost 84, near Grantsville. Troopers reported that wind was blowing onto the interstate, causing the road to be slick.

An accident witness driving behind the truck said it crossed onto the right rumble strip, lost control, then went off the left side of the roadway and rolled onto the median.

The 23-year-old driver, who was alone in the truck, was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken by medical helicopter to a Salt Lake City area hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

A Utah Highway Patrol statement said weather conditions, speed and fatigue are being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
