Salt Lake City Home Heavily Damaged In 2-Alarm Fire

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fast-moving fire which heavily damaged a Salt Lake City home Saturday morning.

Salt Lake City Fire Capt. Brett Key told Gephardt Daily the two-alarm fire appeared to start at about 11:30 a.m. in the attic of a home under construction at 3100 South and 900 East.

When fire crews arrived, heavy smoke was pouring from the attic.

Firefighters checked the residence for possible victims before knocking the fire down.

Four people inside the house managed to make it out safely.

Damage to the home is estimated at $100,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
