Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival Kicks Off Tonight

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – August 6, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) ­– The Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival invites people of all ages to the first performing arts festival in Salt Lake City. The festival will be in downtown Sugar House August 6-9. The Fringe will feature national and local artists such as Plan-B Theatre Company, Pinnacle Acting Company, magicians, dancers, local bands and more.

Performers, artists and Westminster College students are using their creativity to renovate an abandoned Deseret Industries Thrift Store into The Fringe Factory. This venue will have three floors of theaters that will showcase original 45-60 minute narratives.

Tonight at 9 p.m., The Fringe Factory will turn into an illuminated spectacle with an exterior light show, Blue Chalk Fringe Games, professional body shots taken by local artist Bruce Akoi, an indoor glow stick dance party and a few secret activities.

This event is free to attend however, to receive discounts at participating Sugar House businesses audience members, or fringers, will need the temporary F tattoo for $5. More information about tickets can be found at: http://www.greatsaltlakefringe.org/tickets.
