GUNNISON, Utah, Sept. 7, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — The Gunnison Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire north of town just after 4 a.m. Monday and the first units arrived to find a barn fully involved.

The barn, which was the primary structure, already had its roof collapsed in the blaze, Gunnison Fire said in a Facebook post.

Three other buildings were exposed to the extreme heat, but firefighters were able to protect them with minimal damage.

“Thanks to Gunnison regional dispatch, PD, SO, Rural electric association and EMS for your wonderful teamwork. A special shout out to McDonalds for donating coffee and breakfast,” the post concluded.
