SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 11, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Hogle Zoo’s zookeepers have been keeping an eye the two cubs of Amur leopard Zeya, who gave birth about three weeks ago.
But it’s more recent that the cubs have been able to look back.
“I spy with my little eye… two cubs who just opened theirs!,” says a statement from the Zoo.
Amur leopard Zeya gave birth to two healthy closed-eye cubs on Feb. 18, 2026.
“The trio is not yet visible to guests, as they bond in a private den behind the scenes. The cubs are nearly three weeks old and starting to explore their den, wobbling their way around as they grow and get stronger,” the Zoo update says.
“One cub is already showing a bit of independence, occasionally wandering to the edge of the den for a little solo adventure before heading back to mom for a snack. And just like Zeya, one cub has her signature white toes.
“More #cubdates soon!”
