FARR WEST, UT – APRIL 13, 2015 (GEPHARDT DAILY)  A man died Monday after the mobile home he was helping to move accidentally fell off the jacks.

The victim has been identified as Ronald Macknight, 39, of Riverdale.

Lt. Lane Findlay of the Weber County Sheriff’s Office explained that the workers had moved the first portion of the mobile home to another location and were in the process of moving the second portion when the accident occurred. “He was in the process of moving the mobile home with another co-worker when during the process of maneuvering and securing the jacks the underneath of the trailer shifted and crushed the man,” he said.

At this time it is unclear why the home fell however they do believe Macknight was instantly killed.

Macknight works for Awnings and More Inc. out of North Ogden. There were several family members, co-workers and friends at the scene. “This was a very sad situation and devastating to the family,” said Findlay.

Investigators from the sheriff’s office, the  Medical Examiner’s Office, and OSHA are all involved in trying to determine what caused the accident. It may take some time to come to any sort of conclusion.

A memorial fund has been set up at American First Credit Union called the Ron Macknight Memorial Fund
