SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 24, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Customers in downtown Salt Lake City had power restored Sunday night after two other outages earlier this week.

Approximately 1,500 customers were without power in zip codes 84111 and 84115 after an equipment problem was reported by Rocky Mountain Power Sunday evening. RMP posted on its website at 8 p.m. that crews were onsite and repairs are underway, and power was restored at 9 p.m. UDOT also tweeted that there were signal problems due to the power outage at 700 E. 1300 South and the surrounding area.

Power was restored to more than 1,500 customers in downtown Salt Lake City Thursday after another outage took out power to 1,600 customers Wednesday night.

Approximately 1,562 customers were without power in zip codes 84105 and 84111 Thursday because of a blown fuse and a patrol for other problems, said Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Dave Eskelsen. Power went out at around 10 a.m. Thursday and was restored by 5:25 p.m.

Customers in those same zip codes were without power for as many as eight hours Wednesday night, said Eskelsen, with the same substation affected. He said there was an underground cable problem that knocked out power to 923 homes at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday.

He said that crews had to de-energize some more areas around 9 p.m. Wednesday, which left a total of 1,662 customers without power. Power was then restored at 1:46 a.m. Thursday.
