Nearly 30 Shots Fired at Home in Salt Lake City Overnight

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – June 12, 2015 (Gephardt Daily ) – Salt Lake Police confirmed that a woman reported her home had been struck by bullets overnight in what appears to be a gang related shooting.

Detective Veronica Montoya said that at 2:53 a.m. a call from a 42-year-old woman came in that shots had been fired at her home in the area of 900 N. Star Crest Drive.

Dispatch also received multiple calls of shots fired. When officers arrived they found approximately 20 to 30 shell casings in the roadway and numerous bullet holes in the house.

None of the occupants of the home were injured. A seven-year-old child was in the home asleep at the time of the shootings.

Witnesses stated that two Polynesian males stood in the street and shot multiple rounds at the house then left the scene in a gray or light brown vehicle.

Investigators also found that gunfire damaged the house to the north as well.
