Ogden house fire causes $80k in damage

OGDEN, Utah, June 4, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Fire crews responded to a residential fire at 459 Cross St. on Monday night and arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the attic.

Crews were dispatched at 8:14 p.m., and the fire was extinguished within about half an hour, but interior damage to the home was fairly extensive.

Ogden Fire Department officials estimated the damage at $80,000.

Neighbors lined the narrow street, relieved to know that there were no injuries in this fire, and the home’s occupants were safely outside and talking with officials.

OFD reported on Twitter, “The displaced occupants are taken care of.”

Ogden and Northview fire departments had 20 firefighters on scene, with three ladder trucks, two engines, a paramedic unit, an ambulance, and the battalion chief.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
