OGDEN, UTAH –  July 1, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Ogden Police have identified a 72-year-old man who was killed by a FrontRunner train Tuesday evening.

Lieutenant Tim Scott, Ogden City Police, said Larry Carver of Plain City died after what it appears a prior incident landed him on the tracks.

“We found Mr. Carver and the motorcycle had separated prior to the incident. The motorcycle was laid down on its side and Mr. Carver was on the actual tracks,” said Scott.

While the investigation into why Carver and his motorcycle were separated is ongoing witnesses told police the victim was hit after he attempted to get up from the tracks. Lt. Scott said that it appeared Carver wasn’t able to get up off the tracks fast enough and was hit by the oncoming Frontrunner.

Carver was pronounced dead at the scene.
