SYRACUSE, UTAH – October 27, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Police in Syracuse are looking for a man who allegedly offered candy to two elementary school students Monday afternoon.

Syracuse police say two children, ages six and 11, were walking home from school toward 1000 West and 1290 South. They told a crossing guard they were approached by a man who pulled to the side of the road, rolled his windows down and asked them if they wanted some candy.

The children said they told him “no” and then ran to the crossing guard who was on duty in the area.

Police were contacted around 3:45 p.m. and immediately checked the area but could not locate the suspect.

The man is described as having dark skin and dark hair, wearing a light blue shirt and sunglasses. He was driving an older white Chevrolet Silverado extended-cab truck with Chevrolet logos on the hubcaps and a tinted back window. There was a ladder and a hammer in the back. He was last seen driving south on 1000 West.

Anyone who may be able to help identify the driver or the truck should contact Syracuse Police Department at 801-825-4400.
