Pedestrian Killed On Bangerter Highway Identified

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – June 19, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) –

Investigators from the Utah Highway Patrol have identified a woman killed early Thursday morning while walking along Bangerter Highway near 1700 South.

According to the UHP, Lynette Hill, 34, was walking down the southbound lanes of Bangerter Highway when she was struck head on by an oncoming car.

According to troopers, they were called to the scene of the accident around 4:30 a.m. where they found the victim deceased at the side of the road.

Officer said the victim was wearing dark clothing which made it difficult for the driver to see her.

Witnesses reported to troopers they saw the woman walking north on the southbound side of the road moments before the accident.

No charges have been filed in the case. The investigation as to why she was in walking down the middle of the road is still ongoing.

Further details about the victim is not known at this time.
