Police: Driver cited after falling asleep at the wheel, rear-ending vehicle in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 2, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman was cited after she said she fell asleep at the wheel of her car and rear-ended another vehicle.

The incident occurred in the area of North Temple and Redwood Road Monday just after 8:05 a.m., said a news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department.

“A vehicle heading north on North Temple rear-ended a vehicle stopped at the light at the intersection of Redwood Road,” the news release said. “The driver of the stopped vehicle was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.”

The driver of the offending vehicle indicated that she had fallen asleep at the wheel, the news release said. She was cited for the incident.
