WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Nov. 1, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for three juveniles after a 16-year-old boy was shot in West Valley City.
The victim was hit in the arm. He was not seriously injured, and was expected to be released after treatment at a local hospital.
West Valley City Police Department spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku told Gephardt Daily that at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the boy walked out his back door in the area of 2750 S. Centerbrook Drive, which is just west of Parkway Park.
Three juveniles were nearby, Vainuku said, and there was an exchange of words. The victim told police one of the juveniles then produced a gun and shot at the 16-year-old. The shot grazed his arm, and he was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The juveniles fled the scene on foot before police arrived. The victim has not yet provided a description of the three.
